Anatomy of the Astral Body

facilitated by Ann Brockway
Wednesdays April 23rd - May 14th
(single class drop-in ok)

5:30-6:30p
$25/single class

Why study the anatomy of the astral body? This is the body of our personalities and psychologies.  Many of our obstructions are here.  It's just as useful to understand the structures and energetics of this body as it is our physical bodies.

Particular breathwork techniques will also be taught, beginning with the very first class in a series of four classes.  This class will be aimed at developing a more direct understanding of the structures involved.  The cultivation of a more subtle attention span of some duration is most useful in this regard.  It is my aim to assist in the cultivation of an awareness wherein you can see and experience things more directly for yourself.  There's power in that.

Class 1: Introduction -- Background and expansion of the benefit of having this information. Esoteric grounding using gravity. A specific pranayama aimed at the development of a subtle and attention for the study and experience of these internal structures.

Class 2: Prana -- Just what is it? Its role and operation specifically in the astral body, the five pranas and their seats.

Class 3: Chakras -- Their structure, their individual energetics and their relationship with each other and other aspects of the astral body. The development of relationship with them.

Class 4: Kundalini/Bodhicitta -- Kundalini is a big topic, but the scope of this will be confined to the anatomy of its structures, and its relationship to other structures in the astral body. The idea of Bodhicitta is more of a Buddhist origin, but is included in this class as there are anatomical structures involved in the practice of "raising Bodhicitta", or, raising compassion in the heart.

Taught by Ann Brockway 20 years of meditation practice with a Master, clairvoyant reader, retired chiropractor, anatomy teacher at an acupuncture college.

Now offering Aerial Yoga twice a week!

Aerial Yoga
Monday and Thursday (weekly)
6:45pm - 7:45pm

Cost: $25 drop-in or $8 in addition to any currently held Yoga Jones pass (unlimited or class package)

Aerial Yoga: Aerial Yoga has been one of the fastest growing practices integrating classical yoga postures with the weightlessness of an aerial sling (rotating single point hammock). The creative technique builds strength and flexibility limiting pressure and weight on the body. The result is fun, challenging, and therapeutic – making that “yoga-high” quite literal with its unique advantages and inversions. Some yoga experience is helpful, but not required. “Adults” (15-ish and up) are welcome. All sessions this spring are beginner/foundations unless otherwise noted. Closer fitting clothes are better. Covering your skin with long pants that are not too loose or leggings may be best. Eat lightly 2 hours before class time. Class level: All Levels. Class intensity: Everyday Namaste.
